I would more concerned on the type of Filter vice Oil. Though you do have an Owners Manual? Might want to read it sometime it tells you what weight oil to use for particular climates.

I personally have used Royal Purple for the last 5 years. I read about it in a performance magazine and and have used it every since. I have recently seen it at wal mart. Price 6.72 a quart.

Only had one oil change so far and the dealer did it, put synthetic 5w30 (not sure what brand they use)in it. Don't change my oil but about every 7500-8000 miles anymore. 1. I don't slam the accelerator down at every light like I did when I was 20 and 2. Oil is made better then it was then.

Hello to Everyone. Just took delivery of our H3, Labor Day. I "LOVE" it..........Traded in an 07 Tundra. That truck was a PITA to change oil....was one of the reason's I disliked it. But the H3 makes up for any "oil change" pains in the look's department. Don't know why I felt the need to add this, just my 2 cents.

Welcome Snowz. Good two cents you added there. The oil change in the H3 is a bit of a PITA, even for the places I take it to. Whether you do it yourself or have someone else do it, be sure to wipe the oil off the crossmember and double check all of your skidplate bolts.

I have always used with excellent results, 5w30 Castrol Syntec.

At least you only need a 13mm socket for the whole job.
