Question Hard wire Radar Detector

I purchased a direct wire cord for my "escort" radar detector to the rear view mirror, (from eBay). The instructions were not vehicle specific. I need to know what color the "switched" power and "ground" wires are going into the rear view mirror. Thank you for your help.

Default You need a multi meter

Test wires and turn the ignition key on and off, the wires that show 12v -/+2v and turn on and off with the ignition keys are "switched" , if its of decent size, i.e. maybe 16g would work. Use wire taps to attach and there you go. And ground it somewhere.

I'm looking to get the escort 9500i (i think thats the name at least). What model Escort do you have, and could you give me any advice or comments on the product your using? If it works ok, range, bands it detects, etc. Also, if you don;t mind me asking, what state do you run it in. Hope to hear from you. I LOVE this site, about 6 of the mods i want to do this year, hopefully before summer, are on this site and members have used them with mostly positive results. It really helps as a consumer to hear from people you trust with your vehicle. Anyways, I'm starting to bable and i apologize.

kinda surprising you've got all that electronic equipment on your rig, and you don't know what 'hardwiring' is!

It gets rid of the ugly springy coiled wire across your dash. You mount the detector up in the tinted zone by the mirror with a short wire from the detector to the mirror.

I'd like to see some pics of the install.
