Not sure about that either, though I believe the T has a high center of mass and a light suspension, so thats probably the reason why there is a max limit of 500lbs for hauling in the box and why (with a few other reasons) DB didnt release the heavy duty version.

Can't wait to see some pics on the truck, you won't be disappointed. You have to find a Pop N Lock (a big 5-10 min install ) now for the tailgate and you'll be locked up tighter than Fort Knox .

I bought a extang trifold and to lock it I purched GM#17802393 tailgate handle I think it is off a silverdobutt it fits perfect

I just purchased this Silverado tailgate lock and the bezel did not fit my 09' H3T. I will have to return it and get a Pop and Lock.

U mentioned the bezel didnt fit; maybe u can fit just the handle and locking hardware into the T's bezel?

I already sent it back. It would not work with the T's bezel because the lock is built into the bezel. The push tabs that lock the bezel in place were each off by a 1/4".

There is a bar that is installed on the tailgate that the cover latches into.

I have a Roll N Lock and love it! You can roll it back 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 or all the way back. I really like the look of it because it sits flush with the top of the bed.
