I know people take the Fjs off road but I have never seen one in the dirt. I have seen a few that looked like they had all the off road accessories but they were clean as a whistle. Did Toyota ever start warranting the cracked frames??????

I test drove the FJ before I bought the H3, and was VERY disappointed with how cheaply made it was! I've had a wrangler before and did a lot of off-roading, and now the difference between "just the basics" and CHEAP, and the new fj is just CHEAP! The H3 on the other hand just felt solid from the start and am very happy I did not go the Fj rout.

I have been off road with H3s and have been very impressed by their capabilities. If you are serious about buying an offroad capable vehicle that just also happens to be a dream to drive around town there isn't a better choice than the H3. ( except maybe the H2 )

If you are worried about a lack of power there are an abundance of performance products like turbochargers and superchargers for the H3 and the H2.... the majority of hummer owners go offroading

I tested a FJ the morning of the day I bought my H3. There is no comparison in the two the H3 wins easily in my opinion. Had my H3 for a year and a half with absolutely zero regrets.

FJs are gay dude, get a real truck - HUMMER baby all the way!

I hate to bring back an old topic but my uncle has an FJ (f****** jap mobile) and my cousin has a Rubicon and I have driven all three. Imo the h3 is the best overall, the jeepis the worston road and gets it's front axel hung up on the ruts of western NE, but still a VERY capable vehicle, and the fj does well but seems tippy on steep logging roads especially in the snow we slide out much more often.

In correction to what I said the jeep doesn't get hung up as much on ruts but stumps and doesn't seem to chase coyotes across fields as well
