H3 Newbie Questions
Hello.
Newbie here. Just picked up my first Truck / SUV ever, and its a 2009 Hummer H3 Black stock with a lot of options. A few questions please . What are the popular parts people add / change out? I want to add a Wench to the front Grill and larger wheels / tires, but not sure which . ? Also, I want to lift here a little. I found youtube vids that shows kinda what I want to do:
Rock Star Wheels look good but are they high quality? And which Tires should I go with?
Thanks in Advance

Thats a nice truck! You're going to need to do a Spring Over Axle conversion and Hunner skids at the back end and a 4" Tough Country lift on the front. 17" or 18" XD's with 37x12.5 Super Swampers at all four corners should do you well to get started. You do have the cast iron front differential and Adventure series x-fer case right? That aluminum front diff is a known weak spot so you will want to upgrade before you head out. A Gobi Stealth roof rack and a high lift as well as fire extinguisher and normal spares will complete your truck for now.

Experts say I don't need to buy a LIFT KIT after all .... Can I just add bigger tires and larger wheels and be done with it? Will this effect gas mileage? It's a ALPHA model. Any safety issues going bigger? Thanksssssss Guyssssssssss

You do not need a lift kit, all you have to do is adjust the T bars up front. SEARCH it. Everything you add (tires, roof rack, brush guard.....) will impact MPG.
Bigger tires = 35", no safety issues with 35s.
Before you go bolt on every piece of crap you see, the first thing you need to decide is what do you intend to do with it. If you are going to wheel it, then you will be looking for items that have purpose. If it is going to be a pavement princess, then you can look for some big old nerf bars and cha cha rims and won't need under carriage protection or rock rails.
