Default H3 issues

I found out recently when trading in my H3 for an H2 that the h3 was having issues. For sometime my engine light would come on and go off. Well on my way to the dealer my light came on. I test drove the H2 and when the checked the h3 they said it has been misfiring for a long time. So they would not take the trade unless I paid close to 4000 dollars to repair it first. Was this a common problem?

We took our 2007 h3 to the GMC dealership since it would stall after fill up. They warrantied the work and said it was a valve and cylinoid issue sending charcole into the fuel lines. They did the computer updates and said there were 8 of them including one for misfiring. So, we had an issue, but it was just a computer update, not a big deal.

Was it out of warranty? Don't know why it would cost you.

The 5 cylinder engines had problems with the intake valves on the cylinder heads. Should be under warr if you are under the 48yr/48000 mile warr. We have at least 1 in out shop everyweek getting a new head put on. Hope this helps...

Do you know if this issue has been fixed in newer models? I had an '04 Colorado Z71 crew cab and didn't have a single issue. I had it almost two years. I can't remember how many miles, though I think it was around 30k.
