H3 Base UpgradeLocking diff's, offroad?
would of, should of, could of.... but didn't get theoff-road option.
after 1 week.... bought new 285x75x16 BFG TA/KO's to replace the crappy Goodyear RT/S's.
Now, I'm wishing I had the electronic locking diff / gear ratio that comes with the off-road option.
Anyone upgrade an H3base? If so, please advise!

I have an adventure. I like the locker there when I need it, but there are some circumstances that I have found where the base or lux w/o the off road pkg can accel.
Sand is the biggy, the lower T case ratio does not really help in sand, and the base is easier for newbs to run in sand.
IMO better tires mean more than the upgrade to a rear locker, HD shocks, and a lower T case ratio. You can add a rear E-locker or ARB without breaking the bank.
If you are a rock crawler, you would want the adventure for the T case ratio.

Adding a rear locker can be done an ARB air locker or Eaton E Locker asDoc Oldssays.
I would guess it would cost about $500 - 1,000 (labor and parts etc) for the rear axle if you go with an ARB
If you change the rear diffgear ratio (ring and pinion) you will have to do the front diff as well.

Best Price I found on the Locker was $800.. Install was another $300 at 4WP.. Toss in another $50 for fresh carrier bearings.. They were expecting I was talking about a lunchbox locker rather than an E-Locker even though I told them what it was, so I kinda got a deal on the install.. Also I did all the wiring myself, the $300 was just to do the work in the diff..
