H3 in Baja
Just wanted to share my recent camping trip in baja with my H3 ( hopefully the pics are attached)..all I can say is this think kicked *** in the sand. There was about40 miles off road to get to camp @ Guadalupe Canyon. The first 20 miles or so were the best, it was a dry lake bed with a few traveled roads, you can veer off the road into the sand which is a few inches deep at most, it was like hitting fresh powder if anybody skis/snowboards. The traction control was awesome and my buddies who have very capable rigs ( cherokee and F150 ) were tottaly jealous, they said it looked like I was driving in a cadillac. We topped out around 80 mph ( I got a 15 sec med quality clip I can email if interested ) with a huge smile on my face and a Corona in my hand, and even when I saw some large bumps coming up which I couldnt avoid...gave the O Sh#! hold on call to my girlfriend...the H3 just floated over them. I proved the theory that going faster on washboard ( at least in the humeer ) was smoother then going slow. And to top it all off....I am not lying, I have witnesses....I accidentally hit one of the large bumps doing about 70 and caught air...yes it scared the crap out of me but the H3 just handled it like the General Lee...words cant describe it...it was honestly the most fun I had behind the steering wheel of an automobile. I always thought of the H3 as more of a crawler but it kicked butt as a pre runner. I usually have chrome steps on it but I learned the hard way that those eat up your clearance, a rock hit it on another trip to baja and pushed it into the rear tire, so it was like a permanent parking brake, had to take it off and just left it for the locals. GOOD TIMES!

RE: H3 in Baja
It's a 2006, I just have the Readylift leveling kit on the front( new torsion keys ) and I put in Pro Comp ES 3000 shocks in the front. The pro comps are softer than the stock but handle awesome off road. They give you a little more front end dip on road when braking but overall I like them better. I really wanted some adjustable shocks but the guys at Off Road Warehouse couldnt find any for the H3.
