Default H3 Alpha Towing, Camper, Trailer opinions

I think I have decided on a travel trailer to pull behind my Alpha.... If you guys don't mind, take a look at weight etc and see what you think. I have provided a link. I also kind of like the 7.5' width for behind the H3

that should be nice!!! I like it.

IMO, I'll think you'll notice that "house" your pulling behind the H3. That much weight (the alpha is capable enough though) will really drag the H3 down on those long climbing grades or moutain driving. Some have complained on overheating issues with towing heavy ammounts.

I have towed3100lbs between the trailer and the rhino without issue...Up I70 through the mountains. No issues. I understand there's a big differnece bewtween open and enclosed trailers (in this case your camper), but I thought I'd post what I have done with mine so far...with 35" tires too.

Keep us all posted how it does.

i think the weight is the big issue being more than the truck is rated for. not rated for that much weight can create some major problems with control and mecanical issues.

There are a number of threads on towing with the H3. Try the search function and you may find exactly what you are searching for. I have not towed with my H3 Alpha yet.

Just a few notes:
[ol][*]Exceed the total weight rating that's posted on the inside of your trailer and you're in trouble.[*]Exceed the total trailer rating of your H3 and you're in trouble.[*]Need a weight distributing hitch.[*]Need sway bars.[*]Need trailer mirrors.[*]Nice to have, aftermarket tranny cooler.[/ol]
There are a lot of trailering resources for campers on the net. Most will say the same things that I just wrote. If you're towing a short distance, no big deal but if you're going on a long haul prior proper planning will prevent **** poor performance.
