H2 tranmission lifespan?

themasterc- ill sell you my 03 with 89k for that price right now lol.
as of the trans - if it shifts fine without slipping hard shifts its fine. you can get a trans rebuilt online for under 2k. probably find a shop to do to it for 1500 locally. 6000 for a trans rebuild is un heard of even for a performance transmission.

I am "that guy" I do take care of it. oil changes every 3K, Trans and Diff service every 30k or less if I am extra hard on it. I replaced my trans at 82k or so. I had my Torque Converter fail which led to a transmission being replaced. Supercharged with mods. I Tow a Fairly heavy camper and go into the mountains at every opportunity. just fix it with o.e. or better when something breaks.

My old 2003 never had any transmission issues when I sold it with about 130k miles. It ran just like day one.
As for my 2009, either the guy who owned it pushed it & it's starting to break down or the 6L80 is simply not as robust as they claim it to be. I'm missing gears, constant hard shifting, drive line clunk, etc.

All the more reason to get a diesel. As mine rides now, I slip from third to first downshifting at times... it's not just annoying... it's just awful.

I'm sure if I was experiencing your issues I would feel the same. But I'm coming from a 4 speed diesel Excursion 7.3. Now I love having 6 gears and the ability to have power from 2500-4500rpm's while towing. I've thought about a diesel but I think the cost/headaches never provide a return. If I did anything I'd do the supercharged LSA. Seems like that would be a more reasonably priced option.
