H2 as tow vehicle

H2 as tow vehicle
I have an event coming up in August. I am thinking of towing my Camaro to the event with our '05 H2. The car weighs in around 3800lbs plus a rental trailer. Its about 1100 miles each way. Ill be replacing the radiator and adding an external tranny cooler as soon as they arrive. Can the H2 handle this ok. It'll be from the flatlands in South Texas up to Western Kentucky. I'm guessing gas milage will be pretty much non existent. Let me know if any of you have done this and how the truck handled the job. Any tips would be appreciated as well.

Page 4-71 of the manual states:
Maximum Trailer weight: 6700 lb
GCWR: 13,500 lb
**The Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR) in the total allowable weight of the completely loaded vehicle
and trailer including any passengers, cargo, equipment and conversions. The GCWR for your vehicle should not be exceeded.
There's more info on the following pages.

Yeah I have the manual in PDF. but I was looking for real world experience and tips from someone who pulls a similar weight on semi to regular basis. I did tow a buddy's Miata around town. Felt like nothing was even there.

You will have zero issues with that setup. I used to tow my Z06 (3100lbs) to the track with a very heavy duty equipment trailer (used for hauling loaders) and had no problems. The trailer you plan to rent I'm sure will be significantly lighter. Don't expect to get much better than 9-10mpgs at best.

But from my experience with my '05 that weight is no problem. I've never done long distance though, usually less than 150 mi round trip.

Thx for the replies. I'm pretty sure I'll be towing the car. The H2 is more suited to long haul with wife and kids than the Camaro. I've been looking into buying an aluminum trailer. I'm feeling better about towing after everyone's comments. As said before, the mileage won't be good but that's certainly not why we buy these trucks.

Before my 08 I used to own an 06 that I was talking about towing the car with..... no issues. The 08 is a much better tow vehicle but the 06 was no slouch in that department.
