H2 Tow Rig

H2 Tow Rig
this may be a rerun for a couple guys on another forum but im gonna try here also. im trying to get all the practical advice possible before making a purchase.
heres the deal. i currently own an 04 H2. its my wifes DD for now. she is really wanting to get an RV, as we have a 7 month old son and she wants to get us set up to..... well bascially spoil him. she as of tomorrow will be a full time stay at home mom. id like to keep the H because she loves it and its paid off. im really not in the position to buy a tow vehicle (f350) a this point in time. basically what ive come up with it to get a bumper pull RV, haul with the H2 for now. next year or maybe 2 buy my tow vehicle then when/if we out grow the bumper pull or decide to up grade get a 5th wheel.
so here is my situation..... wife is high maint. and wants a pretty big set up. so the "buy a smaller one" argument its void. this is about the smallest i can get her to go for. we are currently looking at a rig that claims to be "1/2 ton pullable"
the rig its self is
Hitch Weight 865 lbs. (392 kg)
Base Weight 6,890 lbs. (3,125 kg)
GVWR 9,900 lbs. (4,491 kg)
Cargo Carrying Capacity 3,010 lbs. (1,365 kg)
Exterior Length 35' 7" (10.8 m)
Exterior Height 10' 9" (3.3 m)
Exterior Width 96" (2.4 m)
keep in mind i live in OKC, pretty flat and will be doing mainly towing to grandparents in macon GA, south texas and local okc area, not a lot of hills to worry about. with the H getting trailer brakes, an upgraded trans cooler, weight distribution hitch and an upgraded/reinforced hitch do you think this will be a safe set up, both for the preservation of life and not gernading her truck.?
thanks in advance guys. i feel you can read all the reviews and reccomendations all day long but id rather have practical in the field knowlage

Sadly this trailer is really middle of the road to almost on the light side from the 3 dealerships we have been to so far. Without going to a pop-up anyway. There were 2 others that we like but they were "too heavy". This one clams to be towable with a half ton truck. I want to know what they consider "towable"? I guess if I can hook on to it and get it out of the lot its towable right? Lol

8600 is the GVWR....
and the GCWR is 13,500lbs

I wish I had gotten pictures this summer when my buddy had the brilliant idea that his 2004 Ford 1/2 ton 4x4 could tow our travel trailer; weight approx. 6400 pounds.
Once we had it hitched up and started cranking up the tongue jack, his truck went down like a ten dollar hooker. Then he let me attempt to move it across the yard---ha ha ha.
I never said anything, though it would have been an awesome time to make him eat crow for being so proud to own a Ford.
He came over a couple days later when we hitched up the trailer (we were driving thru town, so he'd never seen the HUMMER loaded before then), the air suspension took over and leveled it out and away I went.
He traded his truck about a month later for a Ford Diesel 250! Coincidence? You tell me! He has nothing to tow, has only ever rented a pop up trailer prior to this, but I think he felt the need to reestablish his manhood.....

Nothing yet. Went to the RV show this weekend and looked around. Its funny how they claim these Riga are "half ton towable " but all weigh more than the Max weight. Not sure what direction I'm going to go. Think I'm going to go hook up to mybuddies rig and haul it around with the H. If she's does good we will go that way. If not maybe an excursion
