H2 Mirror Problem
#12
I can't guarantee that this is your problem also Cecil-1, but it WAS my problem on mine... I'm like Easy Ed was, heck, mine wouldn't work so it was worth the try anyway...took me about an hour and a half total to take everything apart, fix the issue, and put it all back together... just TAKE YOUR TIME AND DON'T BREAK ANYTHING...lol... good luck to you bud...

Glad I was able to help out and save ya some cash
I have had to take mine apart again to clean it up again so do expect it to happen again if ya keep the truck, water just seems to find its way into it. The new style mirrors are better and I have thought about changing to them but in no hurry to do so.
Later, Ed
P.S. To the mods, sorry for posting links to another forum but that is where I have been "hanging out" since I bought the truck and where all my "repairs" have been wrote up at.

Well no luck. I took the pass side off and someone must have forced it to move at one point cause some of the plastic gears are destroyed. The drivers side moves a little when i push the button so it will prob clean up and work, but ill wait on that til i can find one that works for the pass side.

Hate to hear that cecil.... I did see some mirrors today on ebay....I believe I did see both a driver and passenger on there...but don't hold me to it- I kinda skimmed through looking at stuff.....seems like they were on there for $180'ish or so...sorry but yeah it sounds like somebody jerked around on it if the gears were all broken up.....
Ed, at least now we know that it can be made to work--- I'll take that anyday even if I do have to take it off again... thanks bud.....

Well, I have an 06 H2 and somehow the mirror was knocked out of whack and it would not stay in one place. It would move around and swing back. I thought the mirror needed to be replaced or at the very least repaired, but it turned out that all I need to do was to use the mirror button and bring the mirror all the way into the closed position and them move it back out to where i wanted it again to re-engage it. Just another thought.
