Default H2 cranks over wont start...

I have a 2003 hummer H2. everything was fine til the other day shut it off for an hour or so. come back out unlocked doors and went to start and just cranks over. comes up with P1626 code. tried the relearn about 4 times, check fuses, swapped relays around, pulled battery charged and even tried jump starting it. tried another key, wiggled wires still nothing. Have it at dealer now worried i'm about to get raped. It does have aftermaket alarm/ remote start was in it when i bought it. also had transmission rebuilt 1 week prior. I understand could be alarm but never had any problems with it for the year and a half I've owned it. aftermarket radio, edge tuner. other then transmission nothing has been changed since I've owned it.

Default fuel pump? seems likely

dealership claims it's fuel pump. seems likely but odd it worked great no prior issues parked it, shut it off and come back hour later and dead just like that. also I'm not finding anything linking P1626 code to fuel pump other then BCM shuts off fuel to injectors. anyone else think I maybe getting ripped off or is this code common for fuel pump dying?

well being the fuel pumps are electric I guess it could be working one minute then bad the next. My stance would be if they go that route and charge you to replace it and it doesn't fix the issue then they need to eat the cost.

I've had issues before with dealerships just replacing things hoping to fix it. Speaking to the dealership manager and service manager will get things done!

Well they said it's fixed. Was just questioning since I haven't found that code linked to fuel pump online. Also save about $200 by picking up pump myself which was still $100 more then could have got it for online if I had the time to wait which shows you what dealer marks up.

Moved: the Hummer Forums Help and Suggestion Center is for help with using the forums............ like "how do I post a pic?" ... stuff........ and has nothing to do with technical vehicle questions.
