Default H2 broken into

My 03 Hummer was broken into the other day they went through the driver side door and broke the plastic sorround. I went to a body shop today and they said it was about 750.00 in damage. This jacka** does 750.00 damage to the hummer and only takes a couple pairs of old scratched oakleys.. Anyways I am thinking about fixing it myself and see that the surround is only like 25.00 on ebay.. ANyone replaced one yet? is it difficult to do, I am pretty DIY savvy.

Thanks
Hutch

I think it happened at the RTD station.. Yeah they gauged the paint with a screwdriver. I am debating about buying a billet aluminum handle so that they cant do this again.

Default Been there and done that

It's definitely a DIYable project. It's been a few years since I did my 04, but I think it took a few hours. I would definitely go with the metal. Mine are similar to Billet H2 door handle buckets, great for anti-theft. (black) - Hummer Forums - Enthusiast Forum for Hummer Owners. I don't recall the jimmi jammers being on the market when I changed mine. I would have installed those as well. My concern on the jimmi jammers is that they might stop a break in, but not until damage is done. Hopefully, with the metal door handle bezels, the crook will see that they are metal and move on. It's been 3 or 4 years since the install. Between those and headrest covers for the tv sets, I have avoided another break in. 3 was enough.
