Sorry for being a bigger kucklehead........these are just replacement bulbs that work in conjunction with the stock harness, etc..right? (I realize that I'm having a moment of complete stupidity but please humor me on this one)

Yes, just a "brighter", "whiter" bulb that carry the same wattage. There is no problem with the harness.

I am all about getting these bulbs.. but I am concerned the harness will melt since my DRLs are on all the time

You will be fine. I had the original Silverstars in my Avalanche for 3 years and never had any issues. These are headlight replacements, not for the marker lights below them :-)

I spent about 2hours searching the net last night for these bulbs and the only place that I could find that had both the headlights (High/Low) and the driving lights was the following (their response to my inquiry)

..........Just tried to get them at Autozone. They are saying that the bulbs are not yet available/ in production

I just picked a pair at AutoZone. They've got them...clerk never even heard of H13, but we found them. $19 ea.
