H1 wheels on a H2?

RE: H1 wheels on a H2?
i think the center hole is larger on the H1 wheel than the hubs on the H2. the bolt pattern is the same, i know a lot of people that have put H2 wheels on an H1, and they had to grind out the center a bit. as for the rims fitting over the brakes, don't know that one, but my guess would be no, since the H1 brakes are inboard. not sure how the geared hubs fit behind the rim, so maybe there is room. try calling the service department at your local dealer, someone there should have the answer. then you could share with the rest of us.

The H1 and the H2 have the same bolt pattern. H2 wheels have a smaller hub. H2 wheels are 17" X 8.5". You have to machine the hub out 3/32's so the wheel will fit on an H1. I don't know that the load capacity of the H2 wheel is enough for the H1. The backset of the H2 wheel is not the same as the H1. The backset of the H2 wheels are 5.625". This means that they stick out another 1.375".

go to h u m v e e . n e t and you'll find plenty of posts of guys putting H2 wheels on H1s, even having them set up to work with the CTIS. but, that wasn't the question, it was about putting H1 wheels on an H2. why someone would want to do that, i don't know, considering the cost of most H1 stock rims.
