Default H1 maintainance cost

I'm a previous owner of h3 and have decided to consider buying a hummer (h1,2,3?)again in doing so this will b my 3rd car so it won't get heavy dosage of use. Although if I get another h3 it will.
The dealer tells me that h2&3 r simple and reasonable to maintain but that h1 is an very expensive and each year it will cost a minimum of $4k just for fluid replacemnt and regular maintanance.
Is this true?
because the three options that I've looked at are.
H1 with 100k miles
h2 with 65k miles
h3 with 35k miles.
All for aroun the same price but obviously different options.
Is h1 with such miles one to stay away from?
Obviously I know it depends on how it was taken cate of and records and all that. But I've had some 30 cars and maintanace of a bad car does littl when the original design sucks.
Thanks for ur help.

Hello
Not sure the cost if you paid someone to keep your rig maintained.

Most owners do all this themselves. Parts cost only.

Fluid changes, lube jobs, Hub oil, filters, radiator Flush, T-Stats, breaks, lift pumps etc...

Check out
Flashoffroad.com

it will have a list with all the "How to's"

If you pick up a H1 that has NOT been kept up, you will have a TON of work and money to "Rebuild" the rig. If you get one that has been taken care of ... it will last forever trouble free.

Most repairs are plug and play. Get you a OBD and a few tools "done"

Hope this helps

A 12,000 mile service, which includes all filter and fluid changes, inspecting virtually everything on the truck, re-torqing all bolts, etc runs about $1200.00 in SoCal at Tustin Hummer. Not many places more expensive than CA. That does not include the cost of actual repairs required during the inspection. I drive each of my H1s 3500 miles or so a year. Things do go wrong with them. CTIS manifolds are expensive, injection pumps are expensive but most people buy spares, parts, etc off of eBay, CL, etc so that they don't have to pay retail. ( Retail on a CTIS manifold is about $1700.00, I just bought one, brand new, on eBay for $385.00 )
If you aren't doing a lot of heavy duty offroading you won't wear out tie rods, ball joints, T-cases etc like some do. My 97 costs a lot more to maintain because it sees a lot of time offroad ( including about 3 trips a year to Moab ).
$4,000.00 per year just to change fluids might be accurate if you drive the truck 36,000 miles a year or you let the shop rip you off.

Where are you looking at a truck? There might be some experience H1 guys close by to go look at it with you.
