Default Got the PCM - CASE relearn

Ok, got the PCM in the mail the other day, getting all psyched to do the install, but wanna plan it so when I bring in my truck to the dealer for another problem (passenger door rattling), I can have them do the CASE relearn at the same time...

How long can I drive it with the new PCM installed without doing the CASE relearn? When I do bring it in, is there a specific reason that I should explain to them, as to why I'm requesting a CASE relearn? Anyone's past experience would be greatly appreciated, since I know quite a bit of you have already done this.

After I installed my PCM, it was probably a month (~couple hundred miles) before I had the CASE relearn done. I really couldn't tell any difference in driving before or after, so you scratch your head ... did they really do anything?! Kelly--at PCM for Less--told me I'd be fine driving it around awhile. I didn't take it to a Hummer dealer, but a shop the has experience with American cars. I showed them the little pamphlet that came with the PCM, and said I needed one. I had time for breakfast next door to the shop, so I was in and out in under 30 minutes. When I installed it, I said "hey I feel a difference", but having had only about 100+ miles on the OEM PCM -- it just is the normal feel for me. My H3 is not a race car and still drinks gas -- but it was something to do

When I installed mine the service engine light came on. I drove it that way for over a week. I have the tuned PCM, K&N and duals. I can feel the difference!!

Does Predator Motorsports' PCM upgrade offer more horsepower than PCMforless'?

You have to ask yourself this:
1) Has anybody on this forum had one negative comment of any kind regarding PCMforless??
2) Why doesn't Preditor do the tuning, but farm it out to raptorq and charge $599.95plus $400.00 core?; and,
3) Whereare the dyno reults?

PCMforless is significantly less than half that price, and your butt dyno will tell you you made a wise investment in bang for the buck!

Let me ask you-all this. I've already talked to Kelly about it. I love the PCM but I experience a slight bog shifting into second gear.It sorta flattens out for a couple of seconds.Sorta like it's into an RPM range with less torque. Anyone else experience this?

Which shift selection did you get from Kelly and Alvin? I got the firmest possible shiftstune and I do not experience a bog or a flat spot, the shifts are very quick, but it is an auto trans and a heavy truck. I will agree that the L460-E second gear selection in the 3 has a bit to be desired.

Hows the BB exhaust doin D Vader?

I think I got the second option on shifts. Do you also have the auto?

B&B has a great sound. Some rattle issues that I've been working on. The price was very good too.

Yes sir I have the auto. Good to hear (pun) the BB is working out on the dark side.
I don't know for the heck of me why you should get a bog in 2nd, other than maybe the shift programming on your tune is just slow/smooth enough that you feel the transition into that range as a flat spot. If you look at the gears for the 3 w/ auto, there is a pretty good gap between 1 an 2, 1 being very low to get the little tank moving. Maybe that has a role too?
