RE: GOT APPROVED!!
yea i heard alot about lynch hummers(very good things) but yea... gotta watch out with the older 6.5l turbo diesels the 8th cylinder cracks on them... mine was a 98 and it had this problem but thankfully it was replaced in 99 which most people say they fixed the problem but some people say it wasnt till the heavier block came out in 2001 in which it really was fixed... but yea mine was replaced in 99 at 28,000 miles i am currently at 90,000 miles and no problems with it yet...
Also the dealer where I got mine was pretty knowledgable and he said i should not buy anything older then 95 due to mechanical problems I wish I knew more but I dont really do....
As well with the 99 and newer you have the ABS and TT4 which is not useful offroad compared to BTM but is useful on daily driving but just another thing to go wrong so keep that in mind as well.....
if i think of more ill let you know
but yea congrats!

Hey Freak...Good luck on your purchase (whenever)...
But I heard that a few of the early models of the H1 had problems with their engines..they replaced the engine in later model years with a more better diesel...Maybe someone here can help explain that further.

So you would purchase an older model because of BTM, rather than a newer one with TT4?

but at the same time I offroad alot and use BTM alot and noticed that it burned a hole in my pocket having to replace the pads and rotors already so maybe its not a good idea hehe but yea eventually I am going to get manual full lockers on my ride so I can take it easy on my pads a bit more....

RE: GOT APPROVED!!
i don't know much about TT4, but if you go with a front locker, BTM isn't as much of a concern. it will instill a good bit of confidence though, and that can lead to breaking bigger stuff. but, it only takes about 40 minutes to replace a halfshaft on the trail, assuming you've got a spare. . . . .

Thats was going to be my next question, is that BTM blows thru your brakes. And they aren't cheap! Is the offroad performance that much different?
