Goodyear Wrangler AT extreme tire problem
Okay, just got my 07 H2 this week. It has 51,000 miles. Tire tread is in good shape. Took it to Discount tire in my area for a rotate and balance. (I have been going here for six years and they have always been up front with me) So the salesman comes out to look at my tires.
He points out the rear ties each have a bulge (bump) in the side wall. He says the rear tires really need to be replaced and are not safe. Says from the date code the rear tires are four years old and the front are two years old as the tread is also way better.
What do you all think? Thanks for any info.

If you trust them, then I would go off of what they say. If there is a bulge in the tires, then you have to replace them. It basically means that the cable or nylon/kevlar that is in the tires has broken. That means that all the air from inside the tire is now being held in by mostly just the rubber that you see. This is not strong enough to hold that much pressure. If you hit a hard bump or pothole with that tire in the same area, it could blow out. If you trust those people, then I would listen to them.
