Default Getting new rims - need advice

hey guys,

I bought a new H3 and it has its original rims on it, I am thinking of going bigger and getting some nice black rims (don't wanna deal with cleaning them every time). How much do you think my 4 original rims (which are in excellent condition), should go for?

I know dealers usually try to buy the old ones for cheap and pretend they're giving me a good deal on the new rims while they're giving me a very bad deal on the old ones (to make up for the discount).

What do you guys recommend? buy new ones then sell the old ones later? and if not, how much should they go for?

Thanks

Which ones are your stockers?
Are they the split spoke style?
Solid 6 spoke?
H3X 18"?
Post a pic...

JewJenk, I am not getting black rims to avoid cleaning my rims, I jst like the black rims more. Plus, I have currently P265/75/R16 and I want to upgrade to 18" with larger diameter.

I attached a pic of my current wheels (sorry they'er a bit dirty but no scratches).

Some similar size/shape wheels I am looking for, I saw on a car:

cheers

A quick search on the 16" rims I'm finding that they are running around $300-$400 for private sale.

I like the look of the black rims as well, my 06' Adventure has the factory chrome 16" rims and with the large tires it does give it a good off road time to hit the trail look. My 09' has 18" black rims and it gives it a sleek tactical look.

Not a fan of the tires on the 2nd picture, the rims look good though, which I'm sure is what you're looking at, but the thin tires just don't look right for a rugged hummer.

Also, everyone else knew what you meant on the black rims, I'm starting to discover who the trolls are on this board.

You are actually right, it might be too thin... it's fine to go big with the H3 right? never owned an SUV before, but I know its a big NO NO for a car

These are 18" rims on good 265 65 tire, my next set will likely be a bit bigger 275 60 possibly.

I was able to get rid of my OEM 16" rims fairly quickly on craigslist for $200. i could've gotten more, but i wanted the quick sale.

Default What about just a bigger tire

315/75/16 looks good on a stock rim
