Default Genneral Grabber at2

Anyone running the General Grabber AT2's on their H3's? I was looking to get some new shoes for mine and was looking at BFG A/Ts but the Generals have more or less the same tread pattern for about 50 bucks cheaper per tire. I have always run BFG's but......just curious some other input if anyone has tried these out....

I am on my 2nd set of

Bridgestone Dueler A/T RH-S

1st lasted about 80,000 2nd set still look brand new and I am at 120,000 now.

These tires have been great, they are quiet, and ride very well.

What size tire are you looking at getting? AT vs MT?? From your recent tires it looks like the AT's are where you are headed. I just purchased the Falken Rocky Mountains and love them so far. I have had Bridgestone Duelers, BFG AT's and TOYO MT's and love the quiet and still cool look of the Falkens. Good luck in your search.

JAYMASURK-
Are you changing all four tires or just two?
I ask, because I am getting close to new tires and I was told, if you have worn tires
on a permanent four wheel drive like our H3's that you need to change ALL four tires
Correct me if I am wrong. I will need four and will buy four, just asking.

I have had the original 285 Bridgestone A/T tires and I like them for the same above reasons.
When I air them down for off road they have plenty of grip for me

Default I have them on my 08 Alpha

General AT2 I have 315/75/16 on the stock rim. Great overall tire for the price. My only regret is that they are not aggressive looking enough. They are great in snow and on the road.

You are correct. With any substantial wear to the tires, you should change all four.

Here is my two cents.. I have always been a BFG guy all my life.. About 5 years ago I had a sick Tahoe lifted 4 inches and did the 33 BFG AT's. I had constant problems with these tires. Three of them ended up being out of Round.. I was at Americas Tires at least once a week for about 3 months. I also had a Brand new set of 32/11.5/15s BFG KM'2 Muds on my Half ton z71. Again always had it at Americas Tires cause tires were consonantly out of round. They ended up replacing them with the New Goodyear Duratrac AT.

I have had dozens of lifted Rigs over the years. Ran Swampers, BFGs, Falkens, Groundhawgs, etc. I will never ever buy another tire now other then a Goodyear Duratrac for my Trucks.. This tire is amazing..

Here is how I fell in love with it.. I work for the Sheriffs Office.. We have these tires on our new Crewcab f150s in the stock size. My truck weighed 7200 Lbs on the scale loaded down with Search and Rescue Equipment. I went way up on Mt Hood in over 3 feet of Snow on a Search Mission looking for lost snowmobiler. I was thinking to myself "I really wish I had my hummer cause this stock truck this heavy is gonna get stuck". Not so. I made it way way up with out having to chain up. I went through some thick stuff and found the person with out ever slipping a tire.. These were amazing. I have never looked back.. I have had them on Several rigs now including another Tahoe, Jeep Rubicon and My H3 now.. You get what you pay for.. and these are worth it.. the Sheriffs Office I work for puts them on all our trucks now..

So my Manger Buddy at My local Americas Tires, says the quality control of BFG has gone way down. BFG manufactures over 1 Billion, yes 1 Billion tires a year for them and many other companies. He says he continues to see more and more problems form BFG and its partner companies. But the Goodyears have excelled in performance. In fact the Druatracs are on national back order right now cuase they are the hot new tires. I have several friends on waiting lists here in Portland just waiting for there new Goodyears..

My two cents.

bird72763-
Nice testimonial.
How would you say those Goodyear's are as daily drivers?
Are they quiet on the highway ? Relative to the BFG's or Bridgestones
And did you stay with the same "stock" tire size, i.e. 285 on the H3 ?

I've now had the opportunity in life to run may different brands and the best I've found by far were plain 'ol Wally World GY Wrangler tires.

Have had GY GSA's, GY assorted, Super Swamp, Firestone, etc.... many other.

None were as economical or as good as the GY Wrangler. Lol!

I've had many other sets from big name vendors also. They just don't compete for the price I get for the performance.
