Default General lifting question/opionion

I know this question has been beaten to death but being a new Hummer owner.... From what i have read the cheapest and most effective way to lift is to Torque the TB's in the front and Shackle the rear, is this correct? I know you don't need the TB level keys but what in fact do they do? What is the biggest shackle you would recommend without compromising the ride quality? Last once this lift is done with the TB and shackle are new shock recommended or can it wait.

Thanks in advance for the info

I just cranked my TB's yesterday with the Trailduty leveling kit I bought on ebay heres a link Trail Duty Bilstein Hummer H3 Leveling Kit | eBay

You can also buy this kit on the trailduty site. The kit is really easy to install and includes longer shocks and longer bump stops that reduce excessive nose dive during hard braking. I have my truck sitting at 23.5" from the wheels center hub to the fender bottom. IMO cranking your T-Bars more than 24.5" can cause excessive wear on you front end and is not recommended. 23.5" Looks just right anyhow. Since I just leveled mine I did not get it aligned yet because I want to allow everything to settle and I can make adjustments for a few days before aligning. I hope this helped, and also shackles are NOT needed but its your truck and your money.

Does cranking your TB's or installing the TB key Kit void any of the factory warranty? I want to level mine out but only have 11k miles and want to be sure it doesnt effect the warranty first..

By the way, did you have to get yours re-aligned after you installed the kit? I cranked the TB's on my Dodge ram and never had it re-aligned and I dont have any handeling issues or get any weird tire wear at all..
Thanks

Cody B, depends on who your dealer is and how they treat HUMMER modifications. I'm in MI also, my dealer and a few others here don't care about cranking the Tbars as long as you stay under 23 1/2". PM me who your dealer is I may have a name of someone to talk to about HUMMER mods at that particular dealership?

the dealer here offered me to crank the t bars for $50, and I said well I don't want to do anything to void the warranty, and left them with that, and then I went home and cranked them myself, and treated myself to a $5 banana split for a job well done

Well here I go again Tainter although I have read thru these posts to see what I could find out.. I am going to ask a question to get some thoughts.
2006 H3 just hit 50,000. I was reading around about leveling, installing new shocks and bump stops to see if it would help the jerkiness in the front end.. So as I read I thought, I bought this H3 used so maybe I should measure the front end and see where it sits. Im not even for sure what stock setting should be, but here is what I came up with ..

Right passenger side front from the ground up center wheel to the bottom center of the fender measured 37 3/8.
Right passenger front center wheel to the center bottom fender 21 7/8

Left driver side from ground up to center bottom fender 36 3/4
Left from center wheel to center bottom fender 21 1/4

Kind of some strange measurements or can this be normal to happen???

not strange at all for the left and right to be different....

the number you want is hub to fender.... and that number needs to be under 24.... AND MOST SAY... 23.5 is good.
