Gas tank question
#12
Thanks for the video. I live in Canada. Propane conversions are not uncommon here. Not sure what the cost would be. I did calculated a savings of $62 based on filling the regular tank with propane instead of gas. I know a different tank is required .

Well that's out of the question. $7,000 to get it done. Some new system they have. Engine starts on gas then switches to propane by itslelf. If you are towing and need extra power it switches back to gas on it's own then back to propane. Some new type of injectors, converts the propane to vapours or something like that. Better mileage than gas. Very labour intensive I was told.

The LPG I have for 3 years now, already switches automatically to propane, and also switches back when it's in extra effort. They have been like that for a long time now. You should ask for prices on other places. The most known brands are Lovato, Prins, and BRC. I have BRC on a white h2 and Lovato on the black one. They both cost around 2700$ right now, completely installed. Just try on other places, maybe there it's more expensive, but 7000$ is just crazy. There is no way they don't get a profit of 5000$ out of that deal. The tanks can be done anywhere, so they don't need to be imported to canada, what needs to be imported is the LPG system, and that is small and not heavy at all, so I don't see where they can justify those prices...

I live in PT. We pay the same road tax with gas or LPG. We just have to pay for the LPG kit, and the homologation of the LPG in the vehicle documents (the 2,050€ (2700$) I talked about includes everything). Having an LPG system installed doesn't change any taxes we have to pay.

btw emtae001 there are some websites that sell the LPG kit, and ship to anywhere you'd like. Maybe its a good solution for you, buying the kit yourself, and then having someone who knows what they are doing, install it for you there in Canada...
