I use 89. Saying that anything but 87 will ruin the motor sounds like b.s. to me. I used to run Exxon 93 in my riding mower... lol

i doubt it will ruin it, but you're wasting your money. the higher octane is only beneficial for higher compression motors. if you had a supercharger it would make a difference, but on a stock motor, you're just wasting money. if you're not pinging or knocking on hard accelerations, you're not getting any precombustion, so no need for higher octane gas.

I agree with Shortbus, if the manual says to use 87, then that's all you need, and using 89 or 93 will be a waste of money for your stock h3.

yeah thats what i figure. the stang is rated for 87 but with the nitrous i have to run 93 to prevent detonation. i wasn't sure with these 5 cylinder engines though.

I wondered where those 12's came from with the Stang bro. The juice! I have NOS on my 350z. run's a 12.6 at 112. But I run Sunoco 100 octane and use NGK cold Iridium plugs when running the juice.

yeah i have a NX wet kit with the 100 shot in it. I'm upping it to 125 and I only run 93 in it. I too run the NGK colder spark plugs (they're recommended). check out my car domain and I have some other mods you can check out. whats your 60'? its fun to have something that runs that quick, huh?

I have a NOS wet kit 100 shot, NX RPM computer and Nitrex filtered solenoids with a custom side purge. Autometer CF NOS pressure and A/F gauges. My best 60' is 1.798 Yeah 12's are fun, some slicks and 11's would be even better!
