Gas Gauge HELP
Hey, this is my first post and I would really appreciate some help. I have a 2003 H2 with 72000 miles. I recently had the fuel filter replaced and to make a very long story short, it appears that it now runs out of gas when the fuel gauge reads 50 miles
before empty. It has always been accurate in the past (light comes on at about 50 and stops giving you mileage below 30 miles
left. This started happening as soon as the fuel filter was replaced. Coincidence? WTH!

It's got to be a coincidence. The filter is external from the fuel tank and it should not make any difference as there is no need for them to go inside the tank where the fuel level sending unit resides.
p.s. It's not a good idea to run low on fuel like that. Fuel in the tank cools the fuel pump, running it low makes it work harder and hotter.

I agree. To add i'm not sure where fuel pump placement in the H2 but with some other vehicle because of pump placement, if you were to be on some sort of a slant or parked, with very low fuel your pump may not able to pick up the fuel and may stall. Then if out of gas and air in line, may have to prime the line or purge... can't remember the correct word for that.
