Garmin Nuvii 750 Review
There was a thread a few days back asking about GPS'. I had just bought one prior to me responding to that thread. I got a chance to test it out on a weekend long road trip so I figured I'd post my review here.
Overall, I'm completely satisfied. There is nothing I would add. Not even sure if I would add the bluetooth feature. The directions are clear and precise. Recalculating in sub 5 seconds and the text to speech function is on point. You can also select british accents too.
The FM transmitter was strong for the most part but can be affected by areas with alot of radio frequency. But even if you lose the audio via FM transmitter the screen is a wide screen 4.5 inches and cleary demonstrates where you are and the next step.
So far I have stored about 100 songs in the device and it plays through the FM transmitter loud and clear. In all honesty, it is sub quality of say a CD, but not by much. After listening to it for 10 minutes, you dont notice the difference.
Another cool thing, is that it stores your recent destinations for quick access, and it has a travel feature which teels you how fast your going, where on the map you are and the speed limit for that particular road.
You can also download vehicle icons from the Garmin web site and games. The Users manual is a whole 5 pages long because the unit is dumby proof. Right out of the bokk it's ready to go.
Again, for the lesser coin I would go with the 660 if you can find one, but it's not in production anymore and comes with the 2007 maps versus the 2008 maps of the 750 (can also be updated via the net). I'm happy with it, if anyone cares.
That is all.
