Future new owner
OK guys, my girlfriend and I are about to purchase our first H2 Hummer and we are excited. I have a few questions for you owners.
1. Does anyone out there use there H2 to tow any toy haulers? I know the tow rating on the hummer is only 6700 lbs.
2. If I buy a used H2, should I be concerned with high mileage on the hummer?
Thanks for your help guys.

Welcome to the boards! As for your first question, I hope this answers it.
I got this off another forum they claim it weighed 9000 lbs. And that the SUT hauled it perfectly.
As for your second question it depends on how many miles and what kind of miles. I just bought my H2 about a month ago and it had more miles than I would have liked but they were all highway miles. The previous owner leased it for two years, and when the lease was up he got a 2007. Which made me confident that they liked it enough to get another one, even in the same color!
I'm sure some of the more experienced Hummer owners can give more advice! [sm=shades.gif]

I haven't actually towed anything yet, but I've had to yank my boyfriend out 3 times and it yanked like a champ..hahha... first time he got his silverado stuck in a snowbank, second time he got the tractor stuck over an embankment... third time he got the plow truck stuck..hahahha.... bet he hates having to call me - a girl - to come rescue him...hahahhahahha... and I always make sure I rub it in..hahahhaha

I guess on what your definition of high miles is. :P
I looked at an 03 H2 that had every option known to man on it, but 111k miles. No one would sell me a warranty, and it was too big a gamble. I also looked at an orange 03 H2, which had 85k miles on it, but they were still willing to sell me the 3 year/36k mile warranty on it.
With as much as parts are on these things ($344 for a Transfer Case Actuator) as long as you can get a warranty, I think you would be okay with high miles to a limit. Just dont be shocked you have to make trips to the dealership.
Just figure 15k miles for every year old the truck is. www.kbb.com says my 03 should be pushing around 60k, while I only have 51k on it and I have had the truck in the shop 2.5 months out of the 5 months that I have owned it. LOL
