Fuel Door Question

Fuel Door Question
I am going to get a chrome fuel door and am deciding on which one to get. It's between the usual OEM GM one that comes w/the chrome package and the Defenderworx locking fuel door. The reason for the thread is b/c I have seen a lot of OEM GM chrome fuel doors in terrible condition. The layers of chrome seem to peel and flake away leaving the fuel door looking terrible. I don't know if it is the harsh conditions (lots of road salt) up here is Minnesota or if that happens to all of them. Has anyone seen this happen w/the Defenderworx or can anyone comment on the quality difference between the two? The GM one is $100 cheaper so I would like to get that if this also happens w/the Defenderworx locking fuel door but since I've never seen one in person I can't say for sure what the quality is.
Thanks in advance,
- Jason

i had 07 oem nonlocking,looked good when i traded
now have defenderworks locker abt 6 months. looks, works good, built good, needs oil often. it gets tight to unlock.
comes with 4 teeny tiny mounting screws which i tossed. i had no faith in them.
at great effort i created a fiber ring, inside the fender, used 6 chrome self tapping screws thru the bucket, fender into the ring. it wont get lost!
it looks good, fits good. mounting is crapo
