RE: Front u-joint noise
ORIGINAL: HummerGuy Mine happens when I make a hard turn and go over a bump, as with pulling out of my driveway and turning onto the street. The gap where the driveway meets the street causes the wheel to drop and it happens like clockwork every single morning or when driving. |

The gap where the driveway meets the street causes the wheel to drop and it happens like clockwork every single morning or when driving. The second thing is the steering column gearbox bushings (or at least one of them) is also cracked and that is what's causing the clanking noise. First, as we all know, was that intermediate shaft problem, and now it's something different. I don't know what kind of metal GM is using for these bushings, but obviously even the new and improved thick ones I've been told are holding these pieces together don't seem to be cutting it. I'm going to hold off on off-roading for a while. I'm tired of these service trips. |
