Default Front torsion bar adjustment

Saw this in a review- "If you decide to buy one, heed this warning. Have the DEALER do this step before you take delivery of an H3!!! Have them adjust the front torsion bars 2.5 turns, then do an alignment (which is generally done as part of the pre-delivery staging anyways). This modification will give you the benefits of a level looking truck, a small modest increase in ground clearance (to about 10 inches from 9.1), and a slightly firmer ride and steering feel. The best thing - it's a mod that's covered under warranty, since the dealer performed the modification."

Does this guy know what he's talking about? Would you reccomend this?

Well, one thing I can point out that may be a flaw in the idea, only because his statement isn't completely factual, it the increase in ride height only adjusts the front ground clearance. Before I turned mine, I measured the rear axle under the differential, and under the lowest part of the IFS center cection and both measurements were 9.5 inches. So a couple of turns will increase the front to something close to or exceeding 10 inches, but the maximum clearance is still 9.5.

I turned mine 2.5" each side and it looks much much better now IMO. Much more level. I don't see how turning it yourself would void any warranty's though. If something breaks I would love to see any dealer prove that you didn't take delivery that way.

I opted after much soul searching to leave mine factory...I like the ride I get now and don't want to mess with it...Not that I don't think cranking the front end up a little would hurt anything, I just like the raked look myself.[sm=gears.gif]

Ya know, I have not noticed any ride handling difference at all after I turned the tortion bars, maybe it's just my big ****...lol.

BTW, Dennis...was that email I got from you? My email server didn't tell me what email addy it was from for some strange reason.

I put a leveling kit in mine well worth no ride differance.Do it again in a heartbeat Now i see H3 with out them and i said the other day i would not buy one again the way it slopes im so use to mine being leveled. I just put 35in tire on and still have plenty of room to go bigger. I love everthing about it i guess that why people do differant thing to there truck to make it feel special to them.
