Front/Rear Axel Gear Ratio for bigger size tire.
Question for those who have knowledge on how the gear works on the H2. I upgraded to 38 tires. I know I have to change my gears to get back to the near factory performance on my H2.
I was told that I will need a 4.88 Gear conversion. However, the optimum performance can be achieved if I go with 5.13 (which is not available for the G2 kit).
I will be doing most of my driving without any trailer. However, if I decide to tow a trailer, like one of those camping trailers (around 5000 lbs), what will be the best Gear for the job?
Anyone used the G2 kit? Any recommendation?

easy math
A good rule of thumb is to multiply your tire diameter height, 38 by .12 which comes out to be 4.56 gears for stock like gearing. If you want to help overcome the extra rotating mass of the tires and increase your highway cruising rpm to put your engine higher in the power band you would multiply by .14 which is 4.94 so the closest ratio for us hummer guys is 4.88 gears.
you want to use .14 if your truck has a v6 engine or 4 banger in other trucks. Just a little fyi.
