Default Front D Rings

I bought some chrome D rings to dress up the front of my H3. I pulled off the two large stock bolts, but the D ring mount is attached to the bumber by something else that I can't get at. What is the trick to getting the stock D ring mounts off my bumber?

Thanks!

You have to remove the pin that holds the D ring to the mounting bracket. There is a torx screw behind the pin.

This is true..Unless it's an earier model then you have to remove the bumper to get a bolt from behind.

This is the easy style or later version..the torx screw is seen here;

Thanks for the help guys. I must have the older one because I don't have that torx screw in the middle. I pulled off the front skid plate and had a look and it looks like the screw, pin, or whatever is holding it on is located in the middle of where the frame rail butts up to the D ring. What do I have to pull off to get at it? Thanks again!

Once you have the skid plates off you should see some bolts still holding on the front lower bumper...The big bolts that go through the Tow Hooks, also hold on that bumber...But like I said, you have to remove the lower bumper to get at those last two screws holding on the tow hooks from the behind.

Hey Pal,, Ive heard people just twisting until it breaks off but thats not what I did. I drilled mine out from the front instead of taking bumper off. It was really pretty easy. Just drill deadcenter and it falls off. You wont be using the old D's so its no big deal. It wont affect putting the new one back on and will save you a couple hours taking all the front end pieces off. Heres a pic where I drilled. I filled it in with some black silicone after this pic and you cant even notice it now. Hope this helps. P.S. take off d-ring before you drill so you can line up straight.
