Default Frequency for Headrest DVD player

I recently bought one used DVD headrest. I know the unit plays through the wireless headphones, but I was also told it sends a wireless FM signal to the radio so you can listen through the truck speakers. Is this true ? If so does anyone know the frequency? I've been trying every FM station with the DVD playing but I don't get sound from the radio.

Thanks

Have you got the remote ?
You need it to program the frequency in.
Same thing happened to me. My system came without the remote(used) so I had to buy one.

Thanks, I had no idea, so I'm guessing there's a button on the remote that sets the frequency? If you have specifics I'd appreciate it, if not I'll keep trying until I get it.

thanks again.

Hey Greg,
Sorry it took so long getting back.
Right,
I think you hit the 'sound around' button on the remote and about 6 frequency's show up.
You pick one of them and thats the one you use on your car stereo.
BTW. This will only work if you installed the FM transmitter too. It's like a smallish black box with an antenna wire hanging out of it.
Hope this makes sence

Thanks again, I tried it today and couldn't figure it out, I'm going to hit the surround sound button as you suggested and see if I get it now.

Do you have the FM modulator box with the unit? this mounts under the console it has a very thin wire that appears to go nowhere it is the antenna. My system tunes into FM 88.6 DVD A or 83.3 DVD B you can also hear sound on other frequencys when using seek button but not as good quality.

Thanks for the reply, I have the unit on 'A' and I went through all the frequencies but there is no volume from the radio when the DVD is playing. I'm not sure what is going on and why it's not working. Do you think maybe my unit it broken?

Default Note:Check the headrest Car DVD Player's Wiring

If the car's headrest DVD player was installed after-market (i.e., by the car's owner or a service center and not in the factory), there is always the chance that wiring has been frayed or gotten disconnected. Check the wiring of the headrest DVD player to make sure that it is not being bent or frayed and that all connections have been properly done.

Default SOMEHTING i KNOW

An IN DASH CAR dvd PLAYER works by being inserted into the dash

board where the vehicle's existing stereo system is located and then

wired into the car's electrical and audio system.

This is done by removing the front section of a vehicle's dash

board and disconnecting the stereo. Once the existing stereo is removed

the DVD player can be installed by using an installation harness, which

is vehicle specific and is designed to have the player fit into the

space vacated by the stereo. The in-dash car DVD player in then

connected to the vehicle's electrical system and to the speakers.

When installing an in-dash car DVD player be sure to disconnect the

vehicle's battery to prevent shock.

Default Headrest DVD players

My used 2007 has two dvd players with the h3. One mounted in each headrest and it came with headphones and two remotes, one for each player. I tuned the radio to the fm freq that was indicated on the screen and it did play through the stereo speakers. It is not the best sound and you really have to turn the volume up.
I will look and see what freq the units are using tomorrow
.
Now my question is, did GM have this as an option when you bought the car or are all these dvd headrest players put in by car stereo shops?

I also think that they disconnected the heated seats and used the power from that to run the players.
