Ford "sells out" to India
I'm sure you guys have heard about this already:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23797447/
I just can't believe this. I understand it, but I just never thought I'd see the day. It's bad enough we have tens of thousands of American jobs going to India, but now this? And Ford, of all companies.
Henry Ford is rolling in his grave right now.

RE: Ford "sells out" to India
Ford is doing exactly what I am doing: Taking a loss to get out of Jag.
My 2003 x-type threw a rod last week. The dealer would not even open the engine to determine the cause of death. I had to have it towed to a third party who performed the autopsy. My new mechanic wasable to determine that the best bet for the failure was poor factory workmanship. He is going to get it running again while I save up for a new sedan to compliment my H3.
Also, I am from Louisiana where we elected an Indian-American governor. I am not a reactionary to this and the Jag sale. The world belongs topeople who hungerfor success. Stay hungry!

I don't care if it was India, Brazil, France or Zimbabwe. It's just the fact that they are doing it to a overseas company. Just in case anybody thinks it's a ethnicthing, it most certainly isn't to me.
I understand why they are doing it. That doesn't mean I have to approve or like it.
I guess this day and age it doesn't really matter anymore. Everything is made somewhere else I suppose

I just don't like seeing it happen, that's all. I'm probably making a bigger issue then it is. Big surprise coming from me Anytime you have anything move overseas, even if it's already based there, once the ownership is transferred, I'm sure that will mean less jobs for people at Ford, and probably jobs here in the U.S. I guess that's what I'm getting with.

Land Rover, Jag, they were all British automakers to begin with anyway. Ford was just a conduit to India for them. Funny that India used to be part of the English colonial empire and can now buy England with cash left over.
