First time w/ H3 in snow
Man what a great feeling driving my H3 in the snow!!!!!!!! I don't have anything fancy or any mods yet - yes Doc I'm still wanting a kit from you. Things just haven't been going in my favor and eventually I'll order one.
Anyways not since I had a 1980 K5 Blazer have I felt so secure, stable and pretty much unstoppable in a vehicle. Although I had a 77 Cutlass that I felt unstoppable in too - just check out my driving record [8D]. I've had full sized Chevy P/Us, Tacomas, a Ford Sport Trac and other 4wds and the H3 tops them all.
We'd finallygotten some snow and then about an inch or two coating of ice/sleet/snow on top of the snow - a real mess. In thenormal every day "auto/full time 4wd" I went up hills that had other 4wds spinning and sliding. Again all I have for tires are the stock 265/75/16 Goodyears. I had others watching in awe as I made my way up and about without any spinning or problems of any sort. I don't know but I think the weight of the H3 is a definate attribute in the winter stuff too.
That solid "tank" feeling makes one"almost" too confident. I'm at least smart enough to know thatno matter what kind of 4wd one has you still have to drive carefully.
I cannot wait for more SNOW and less ice. I want to really head out and play in it and see how well the H3 performs. I have no doubt I'll be very happy with it.
Thisrant doesn't come close to expressinghow thrilled I am with my H3. This is probably old news to a lot of you but Thanks for reading. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, HappyHolidays or whatever you believe.

Sounds like a lot of fun for you.
Did you try pressing the manual 4WD button to try it out? I don't mean the low gear.
I don't have an H-3, I drove one for a few days and felt as you did, safe and I felt it was a tank as well.
Congratulations.

The H3 does great in the snow but no match compared to my wifes Acura MDX. I love my H3 and try to take it out whenever possible. I personally think driving in snow is just one of the funnest things you can do!

I didn't play with the 4wd system while out and about. I probably should have just to get used to it too. I'm sure we'll be getting more snow to play in. If not then I'll head back out to the mountains and play there.[sm=bounceybounce.gif]
The Acura MDX performs well too huh? A friend of mine has been in the SUV market and likes the H3, but isn't sold on it yet. I'm trying to sway'em towards the H3 but he wants a Tahoe and his wife wants something smaller. I already know who'll win there.[sm=bicker.gif]

Yes...The Acura does incredible in the snow. I am not sure how it all works but driving through snow up to the license plates without a issue. I can't say enough about the H3. It does everything very well.....including mild/medium rockcrawling. The wife likes the H3 because you can take it wheeling in the morning and clean it up and take it to a dinner/show in the evening. Try that with a Jeep. Hopefully he can sell the wife. I have seen some incredible deals.

Vegas and everyone else better watch out for global warming.................snow in Vegas - who'd thunk it??
You've had more in Vegas than we've had here in Omaha - I'm actually jealous.
I can't wait for more snow here to play more. We had a storm last week that brought sleet and about 2" of sleet/ice mix - what a mess. I did enjoy playing around though. H3 never failed me a bit.
Now everythings melted and we hit mid 50's yesterday. If your weather ever bores you come to Omaha - the weather changes every other hour it seems.
Nice pic - waitin' for the video now.

RE: First time w/ H3 in snow
Hey everyone,
I just got my white 06 H3 this month and I live in Canada so my first little while with it has been in a lot of snow. I think it drives very well, on snowy roads at least. Theres just one thing that I don't like... I'm only 17 so I dont have much experience with driving in the winter and ABS is a little scary for me. I know that it's there to help and without it, it would be worse, but it reminds me every day that I need to be extra careful when stopping. Sometimes the ABS comes on right when I'm at a stop sign/red light, luckily in these situations there has never been a car infront of me! I'm getting used to it though and learning that it's really important to stop in advance when driving in the winter.
The first weekend I had it just happened to be Ontario, Canada's first major snowstorm - this was a little rough since it was a Florida vehicle, so the antifreeze/washer fluid froze inside it's tank, and the wipers were horrible. Luckily we managed to unfreeze the washer fluid and replace it with -40C degree fluid, and got new winter wipers.
I love my Hummer! It's my first car and it's amazing!!
