Well, in preparation for our upcoming trip to Ohio next week, I took the H3 into the local Chevy dealership yesterday to get the oil changed and to check out an exhaust leak. I got word this afternoon that they located the exhaust leak. It was between the catalytic converter and the exhaust manifold. What that means is the CC was broken and thereby causing the exhaust leak. The bill, almost $1K. Ouch. I hate catalytic converters.
Anyone alse had this happen?

Broken CC yes..1K bill no. Happened on an older truck I owned, however Oklahoma doesn't have emissions test and I have a friend that run a muffler shop he just cut the cat out and said have a nice day.

It turns out the CC is $455, then three hours labor charge on top of that. I asked if the O2 sensors had to be changed too. The Service Writer said the technician said nothing about them. At least when this is done, I should not have to worry about it again. Next, new XD Series 18" Monster wheels and Toyo Open Country M/Ts. That happens just as soon as I can sell one of my AR15s.

It could have been, but the closest Hummer dealer is in Mobile, AL. That is over an hour from Pensacola and not convenient. The Chevy dealership can do the service work on the Hummers, but not warranty work.

Flowmaster or Magnaflow (I can't remember which) makes a high flow CC that is much cheaper than that you could probably have put in. I did it on my Ram and 944T and couldn't be happier with the results. I know Midas sells them.

The saga continues. I found out today that there is an exhaust manifold stud broken off in the cylinder head. I have heard of this happening on the H3s before. I really wish we had a Hummer dealership here. I have a feeling that a lot of this would have been covered under warranty or recall notice. Now I really need to sell two of my ARs. That would only leave me with 16 of them.
