Well there really isn't any other info to give.. I sat in the truck, as I put the key to the ignition when contact was made it shocked me, the lights/warnings turned on and off a few times then it would not start afterwards, thats all that happened..

Default still checkin

i know electrical fundamentals, and beyond, pretty well and this still makes no sense.
i verified the ground conection of the ign sw assm 2 ways. first an ohmmeter reading, both polarities. its grounded.
then i monitored voltage with a millivolt meter, same thing. the sw is grounded to the veh ground,cigar/accs conn. this with key on,then eng running.

if ,IF ,the block heater was unplugged, there is no source of volts to shock.

if it WAS plugged in , and the hot side touched the chassis, the driver would still have to be grounded outside,or have wet feet and, and,??find a ground thru a lot of water in ,on the floor..??

it aint makin sense so im curious

Dont know what to tell you Tom, I promise it was unplugged and i was in the car.. lol. Maybe it was just a really random fluke. It started today with a boost, so the electronics are fine..

This is most likely due to Electrostatic Charge. That being said, you generate static either by friction (sliding) or by clothing.

Very dry cloth (nylon, silks, rayons and some polys) are more prone to create static. Over drying them makes the matter worse. Some fabric sheets help reduce this problem.

Temperature and humidity seem to play a part also, so this my not be a problem in all regions. I have static shocks in my vehicle here in the Dallas area only when the temperature is cool, never during the summer months.
