E&G Classics Fender Flares / Mud Flaps Question

Default E&G Classics Fender Flares / Mud Flaps Question

I am thinking about ording the E&G Classics Fender Flares / Mud Flaps and had a question for those that might of had experience w/these. What color do I get to match my bumper? I have a black 2010 h3. The bumber is black / gray colored so I'm not sure which of thier colors would match.

The options that I could see mathcing mine are:

H3 Factory Black Fender Flares w/Splash Guards
H3 Painted Fender Flares w/Spash Guards - Painted Black
H3 Painted Fender Flares w/Splash Guards - Boulder Gray
H3 Painted Fender Flares w/Splash Guards - Stealth Gray

I assume the color that would match would be the factory black but I want to be sure. Any help would be appreciated.

They don't have splashguards attached like one version of the E&G. Do you know if factory splashguards would fit with the Bushwhackers? I do like the look of the Bushwhacker.

you can get ome flares here in Australia they had to
what is a splash guard is it a mud flap?

I have installed mud flaps..they help a lot and come in the same sort of greyish colour of the bumpers..
As for the fender flares [ as on newer H3's], I'm not really a fan..makes the H look awkward..IMO , cleaner without

I have the stock mudflaps which were good with stock tires but they are useless with the 35's and the passenger side rubs on right turns since the caster is off with the TBar lift. I thought about the flares but they are almost $400 and only stick out another 1.5" so IMO I don't think they will help me and certainly not for $400.

Yeah I know. $400 is a lot but I kinda like how they look. I still might just go w/the GM ones anyway but I'm debating. $90 is a lot cheaper than $400. But if I go w/the E&G does anyone know what color I should get to match my bumper?

The natural color of the E&G plastic is grayish black. No paint, molded in color. Is there a difference in the OEM and E&G??
The ones that come with flaps do have a molded area for them to slide under. The rear flaps seem to drag thru ditches. The fronts don't seem to get hit as much. They will throw the mud further back on the door.
Either 285's a little or especially 315's will rub the flares when compressing the suspension. A simple fix is trim the lower lip up the rear and across the top of the fender opening. It will not show that you have done this from the outside.
See if any of this info helps.
Might not be for everybody but back when I bought my shiny new 06 H3 I wanted to protect it as much as I could. I found the flares for it. I installed them with the Bridgestones and they work fairly well. I moved them to my 08 Alpha. Running MT/MTZ they sometimes rubbed at the top on the rear wheels. I removed them for awhile and now have obtained a new set plus some spares, decided to work on the old ones.
I have been running in thawed out mud and melting snow for days now. It might be macho to drive around with mud all over the H3 for a day or two but I have to keep mine clean so I can see all the parts. I also have to go places I would rather not have mud all over me from getting in and out. I am going to run lots of roads like that this weekend and wanted to try again. I may install the front mud flaps but I will leave the rear ones off. They sometimes hit the ground. The main purpose for me is to reduce the amount of spray on the sides. Throwing stuff out the back does not bother me.
I removed a full inch from the inner lip. That will allow room for my 315's to stuff. I also removed the bottom lip that holds mud and crud. I used a Dremel with variable speed and a small rotary rasp. I selected a speed that cut more than melted. I used a router guide attachment to control it better. Then using 60 grit paper I finished the cut edges.

Thanks for the great info Hunner. So it looks like the factory black is what I need to go with. One question for you Hunner, are the flares big enough to help prevent the mud for spraying on the truck or is it just the flaps doing all the protection? That is 50% of my reason for getting these (and I like the look). I'm so sick of washing the truck every 2 days. I know I can get the flaps for a lot cheaper but if the flares help even a little bit I'd be happy.

My experience is that the flares do help. They cover some of the front and rear area of the tire and across the top they cover that 1.5 inch of a 315 and side wall that throw stuff up. Mud still goes where it wants but it is not as nasty getting in and out with them on. The back side of the front ones could have carried the width all the way down the backside. See the mud on my mirror! Oh well, it's a truck.
I like the finished look of the covered tires instead of them sticking out past the fenders.
Here is a shot the same day of the drivers side without the mudflap. Compare that to the pass side. It can of course be different depending on circumstances but it seems to throw the mud farther back. Down low the tire will still kick up mud. My RR rails catch some of that. The rest hits the front of the rear fender.
