DVD/NAV question
Hey guys I'm new to the forums and got my first Hummer (2007 H2) a couple of months ago. Got a question about the radio. It has the standard radio/6 disk in dash changer and I'm wondering how complicated it would be to swap it out with a factory H2 DVD/NAV radio. The GM dealer is giving me a song and dance about wiring and or the body module not being compatible. Is there any truth to this?

I don't have an H2, but from my experience with other vehicles, the basic wiring harness is the same across the line. There may be a specialty add-on harness for a particular accessory. If that is the case, you can probably get that from wherever you get the stereo. The issue is that it is not just the stereo. You have different modules scattered around under the dash. Each person has their own set of likes. Personally, for me, it is too much work to go through all of that for a sub-standard stock unit. There are so many great aftermarket setup that run circles around stock and are easier to install. That's what I'm doing on my H3 anyway. The factory Nav is alright but falls way short compared to aftermarket.
