DRL Replacement

I have searched and read all the threads on DRL replacements for the H2. I have read that some have installed the Pilot Driving lights in there place or the PIAA 600 kit. I have SIG HID headlights now so lighting is no longer an issue. Best single upgrade anyone can do is a full set of HID headlights and lens. I highly recommend spend the 1K to get these headlights.
My goal with upgraded DRLs is a brighter light in the day, and at night matching lights to the HIDs. I would go with the PIAA 600 option but seems like such a waste at 1300 bucks for them. I have tried the RoadPro LED lights but within a month they are dying. Soooooo replacement with a HID look bulb (H3 or 9006 type bulb) sounds like the better option. To run one of those bulbs need a fixture to hold that bulb. Stock DRL lens would not take the heat from that type of bulb. I would like some suggestions of what folks have used and some photos of them installed would be great. Model numbers and manufactures of the lights used in the replacement.
