Default Door Buckets and handels

Hello All,

Has anyone had their service dealer install billet door buckets and handles? Can you tell what the cost was for this service? got two estimates, one from Cadillac for $240 a door $960 and from Chevrolet for $800.00..These are the two authorized Hummer service dealers in my area.

Hey Happy Hummer,

That's what I said "WOW" when these two dealerships quoted me that price. I am located in Las Vegas NV. Did you have your installed? If so what was the cost?

I would say do some research and pull your door panels off yourself. Learn how to do it and what's behind the panels. In the future you'll be able to repair things yourself-door lock actuators, window regulators, etc. I'm sure prices will only continue to rise as parts become less and less and the experience to work on hummers decreases in shops.

Just my opinion

The reason it's expensive is because you have to remove the entire door panel, which is a chore on the H2 - plus - even the best technicians who have removed a lot of doors can end up damaging the panels since it takes a fair amount of force to un-clip them. So it takes a lot of time (even for a pro) - and there's potential to screw up your door panel ($500 - if you can find the parts)...so you could think of it as part insurance policy for your door panel and then figure in the time factor.
