Do 35's "really" fit?
Ok, so I've read on here within several threads that 315/75R16 can be fitted to a stock H3. But do they really fit? Do they rub when you drive? Has anyone off-roaded with tires this large on a stock H3?
I was at the local 4 Wheel Parts today looking at wheels/tires and they said the largest I could go was 285/75R16 and maybe 295/75R16 if I got a leveling kit. They said even a 4" lift can barely clear 315's. Is this true or are they just trying to sell me extra stuff?

Yeah - sounds like it. The guy also said the H3 came with 265's stock. I would have gone and checked, but the wife drives the H3, so I took his word. I'm probably going to order some new rims and tires from Discount anyways.

They are correct that the base tire on the H3 is a 265. Adventures are 285.

O8H3 is correct. They fit on stock wheels just fine , rub slightly on the sway bar if turned hard, wheel just fine and work well. No mods are needed and no lift kit is required. I have them on my H3 (the new Goodyear MT/R with kevlar, drove from NY to AZ/UT/CO and back, wheeled in all those places and everything was perfectly fine.

On an IFS, when you raise it up, the wheels are going to come in to the center of the truck ever so slightly -- just enough to make the difference with some tires.
Yeah, you're right.
