Default Is it difficult to replace brakes

I need to replace the right-front brake set: pads, rotor and caliper, plus the rear two pads. The dealer quotes me $1500. I am planning to do it by myself. Is it difficult to do?

Hummer H3 2006.

HI, Scot. Thank you for your reply. Well, they told me that I didnot replace my pad in time (I have been super busy until two days ago). So the all the brake fluid had leaked out and the caliper was also damaged. Anyway, The parts are not that expensive. I think it boils down to if it is difficult to replace them.

if you dont have tools get them at harbor freight a vacuum device for your brake caliper change would be nice, it'll bleed brakes easier, as far as changing the brakes thats easy enough, hand tools and a little thought and some bandages.

Thank you Scot. I will try that on my real pads.
Carcrazy, thank you. I think I will work with a mechanic on the front work.

never changed brake pads in my life and i just finished my first brake pad install. the dealer told me i would need some rear pads soon and they said ceramic was $275 and metallic $360 well it cost me $60 total parts for rear brake pads, cleaner, greaser and a c-clamp and this was so easy i could not believe that they where going to charge me that much for so little work. took me longer to take the tire off and put back on then changing the pad. peace out and like i always say HUMMER ON

Lucky19942001, Thanks. I am pretty handy. Maybe I should pursue your road.
JGBB04, as a matter a fact, I just did a google search and found that. It does not look that difficult.
