Difference in H3 Models
Hello all,
I am getting contraversial data on the different H-3 models. This info comes from two different bona-fide Hummer dealers.
One salesman tells me there is a definate difference in suspension between the Luxuary package and a base model, the other dealer salesman says there are no differences between the Base and Luxury models, but the Adventure model has larger tires that effect the ride. He did say also that there is a difference with the leather seats in the Luxury package as they feel softer.
So I would like to know if there is any air-ride suspension on an H-3 or any thing differernt in the way of the Base versus the Luxury, I am between these two models if I do decide to buy one. The Luxury is a 2006, 11K miles, and the Base is a 2008 with 14K miles. Fifteen hundred dollars seperate the two.
I've driven a third H-3 Luxury from another dealer for a couple of days and loved the ride.
Thank you for your help.

RE: Difference in H3 Models
Thank you Major Tom.
Looks like I still need to do some homework. I'm looking at used models and I don't have access to the window stickers nor their Vin numbers at this point.
I think I actually want just a nice smooth ride. I would assume that the E Locker is what I would want for off-roading.
The one Leather option H-3 I drove for a few days had a beautiful ride with nice handling on the road. Sure footed and great traction, this due in part to fulltime FWD.

Thank you Doc Olds.
Can you imagine the owner of a dealership telling me that the H-3 had air ride suspension on a H-3 w/Luxury package and not on the base? Of course I had no idea if he was just blowing smoke, as now he was.
Does that hold true then for the H-2s? Luxury has air ride? If not, this guy really doesn't know Hummers, or he was testing me.
I really like the leather and heated seats, but there are two H-3s that I like. One is the 2002 with luxury and chrome tube steps, hard cover spare tire cover, chrome wheels, moonroof, 11K miles, very clean and very Yellow. Warranty down to 11 months. The 2008 is a base with 14K miles, Red, and moonroof, chrome handles and mirrors, and tube steps, it has three tears left on the warranty, plus the five year 100K power train coverage.More HP, power window buttons more ergonomically located, and $1,500 more.
From what I read here I should stay away from the 2006 because of head/valve issues.
I can live without the leather and heated seats, as long as the ride is the same.
Thank you again for your help.
