Yea mine died when I changed my battery. This is too common as HummBob said. I was told at the dealership that I should of left my key out so the computer is not booted up before changing the battery.
It all worked out though.....it was on my white 2003 and I changed the cluster from the 2003 white guages to the 2006 black ones like my 2006.
HummBob......do the newer ones like the 2006 guages still have the same problem? does it keep going on even though they are replaced?

Default cluster

Thanks for the responses guys. Before my h2 I had a 2003 Tahoe LT. So basically, I haven't had a clue how fast I have been going for 6 years now. Maybe I should write a letter to GM stating:

As a loyal GM owner I would love to continue driving Gm vehicles. Unfortunately I can't because... I don't know how fast I'm going. lol

Default General Motors Contact

If anyone wants to have fun try this:

Nicholas Zielinski 5865969183

Vehicle Chief Engineering- General Motors

This is one of the big wigs in general motors. It's his direct line and believe me he does not feel obligated to speak to you.. lol. After nosing around through the massive "hoovers business list" online I was able to speak to an admin who gave me his #. Too funny. Don't miss your opportunity to bust General Motors ***** over the speedo issues. lol

This should be fixed by hummer GM warranty or the recall about this issue. I've had serveral h2's fixed under the recall.

Well for some reason my speedo will start off at about 20 mph, then climb up as the speed goes up. But!, if I turn the truck off then back on the needle will drop down a little. I have to do this several time to get it back down to zero, then I'm good for another month or so.

Azzman, all of them are going or just the speedo?
And do you mean out as in not working or out as in light are out?

I am starting to think you have a short in your cluster or in the controlling module (though you said the truck runs fine, so I lean towards the cluster)
