Cylinder Head Help

Cylinder Head Help *Update*
I had the truck checked at the local GM dealer. They advised the cam actuator solenoid was bad and its screen had come out. The fix wasn't cheap but 10 times cheaper than replacing the cylinder head.
So I had a rough idle on start up for a few seconds and then my engine light came on. I've got 2 codes, P00014 (Cam actuator position) and P0300 (misfire). I'm going to the dealership to see what the deal is. My truck is an '06 and the warranty expired (48 months) back in October just as I was leaving for Afghanistan. It has 53K miles on it. If the cylinder head needs to be replaced I will no doubt have to fight with GM to reach some kind of agreement (if any) about repairs. I was wondering if anyone had a copy of GM Bulletin # 1845907 dated 7/6/06. I've also read where some H3 owners have had some positive results getting something done even though they were out of warranty. Being so close I'm goint to try. Any information on someone else's out of warranty experiences that could help me would be greatly appreciated. I'm really dreading dealing with GM...

I would go to your local gm dealer and have them contact gm on your behalf. You might only have to pay for parts. I did that when my radiator blew at 51k and gm covered 50% of the bill including a rental. I've even read on here where some have gotten gm to cover all but the $100 diagnostic. Good luck

Doesn't the H3 have a 100k power train warranty? I think the 48mo/60k mile warranty is just for bumper to bumper work. I would expect that a cam actuator solenoid should be covered under power train warranty? I dunno, I've never had much faith in warranty stuff regardless of manufacturer.
