Default Cupping of Tires

We just bought our 08 H3 and noticed the tires are cupping. It has 30,000 miles on it. Don't know if these are the original tires or not.

Dealer knocked off $500 bucks for tires. I see absolutley no signs of damage to the car and Carfax said no accident history.

Is cupping a common thing on H3's?

Thanks for any insight.

Sounds like they were never rotated regularly. If they have good tread left, I would swap them with the rears. Then get an alignment. Larger tires will cup more noticeably than smaller, but it sounds like it could use an alignment anyway.

When I purchased mine it had the original Wrangler RTS tires that exhibited signs of cupping on all 4 tires. A google search reveled that cupping seemed to be a common problem with the RT/S line of tires.

Thanks for the answers. I will put them on the rear since they do have good tread left and then get it aligned. After just one week with this thing we really love it. I'm actually looking forward to winter.

I installed the Husky Liner mud flaps on the front today. I found them on this forum in another thread. So, I like this forum too. It seems to be a great source of info.

Default Tire issues

I struggled with this one my self. Check your shocks. My were shot so I went down to Orileys and bought some sensa trac by monroe. Much better that the stock ones . I am not a fan of goodyear but that is personal preferance . as for tires I was suprised of how inexspesive cooper discover stt were and how well they perform.

When I bought mine there was 30k miles on the original tires and all four were cupped also and they were loud. the front were way worse than the rear. When I pointed it out to the dealership they took another k off for tires. Went straight to the Cooper Tire store in Texarkana and also bought the sst discover tires in 315's and have loved them since. They did tell me to rotate regularly, every 5-6 k miles. I been stickin to it..

If I could get 30,000 miles out of a set of tires I would be thrilled. The other car I have (2005 Mini Cooper S) only gets about 15 - 18,000 miles and they ain't cheap tires either.

So far this Hummer is just a wonderful vehicle. I can't fugure out GM. They have killed of two cars we really liked. The Pontiac Solstice and the Hummer.

Such is ife.
