Default Cranking Torsion Bars Change Gas Mileage?

Hey Everyone,

This may be a dumb question because it is only a change of about 2 inches, but what I was wondering is if cranking the torsion bars or installing the torsion keys to the front end of my H3 would cause my gas mileage to change. The reason I ask is because the front end is nose diving because of aerodynamics, blah blah blah, and I didn't know if raising it would cause any change.

Thanks for any of your advice and answers...

yeah you will see a drop in mpgs. The rake is set for optimal aerodynamics from GM, simply put your are driving a brick on wheels, when you level it, it provides more mass and resistance, thus decreasing effeciency... also the nose dive that you may be experiencing would be from the suspension travel and not having the extended bump stops on your rig. Will the effects be noticeable, slightly depends on your H3 and what else is done to it.

I am seriously considering the ReadyLift Torsion Keys... I know everyone on here preaches that they are pointless and its dumb to use them, blah, but I am not wanting to lose my factory ride... I just hoping that if I do this it will not decrease my gas mileage terribly. As of now I only get around 16 MPG because of my "lead foot" and I couldn't imagine dropping any lower with an In-Line 5 motor..

Ride will be no different using factory or aftermarket keys. As long as you have enough room in the factory keys to get you where you want to be you're OK.

When I did mine I really didn't notice a difference at all. I haven't noticed any unusual bouncing with the front end either. I just turned up the torsian bars and kept the same shocks as well. I turned them up so that the measurement is 23 1/4

Good Luck
